Accept Bizum payments with Checky Pro
A phone number is the whole payment credential. Spain’s banks built it together, and it lives inside the banking app your customer already uses.
New here? Checky Pro is the payments & checkout platform for modern e-commerce — Bizum is one of the 21 payment methods you can switch on today.
What is Bizum?
Bizum is the payment service Spain’s banks built together, and it is unusual in having no app of its own. It lives inside each bank’s own mobile app, which means a Spanish customer does not sign up for anything — if they bank in Spain, they almost certainly already have it. What identifies them is nothing more than their mobile number.
It started as the way Spaniards send each other money — splitting a bill, paying back a friend — and that everyday familiarity is what carried it into online checkouts. Handing over a phone number to a shop feels ordinary in a way that handing over a card number does not, particularly for a store the customer has not bought from before.
At checkout the flow is short: the customer types their mobile number, a request appears in their banking app, and they approve it there. No card, no redirect to a wallet, no new password. Because the money is pushed from their own account after they authenticate with their bank, one thing does not carry over from cards — there is no card scheme dispute, though Bizum has a dispute procedure of its own.

Why Bizum, and why through Checky Pro
The top row is the method itself; the bottom row is what our platform adds on top of it.
Already in every Spanish bank app
There is nothing to download and nothing to register. If your customer banks in Spain, Bizum is already sitting in the app on their phone.
A phone number is enough
No card number, no expiry date, no address. One field at checkout and an approval in the app they already had open.
Authenticated by their own bank
The payment is approved inside the banking app, which is why fraud disputes are rare compared with a typed card number.
One balance across markets
Spanish payments land in the same balance and payout schedule as everything else. One reconciliation, not one per country.
Switched on per market
Show Bizum to Spanish shoppers and nothing changes for everyone else — the checkout follows the customer.
Judged on your store
We look at what you actually sell and how you fulfil it, not at a risk score.
How a Bizum payment works
From click to balance — what your customer sees, and what happens behind it.
- 1
Enters their mobile number
One field in your checkout. That number is the whole payment credential — no card, no account.
- 2
Gets a request in their bank app
A Bizum request appears inside the banking app they already use. It stays open for about an hour.
- 3
Approves it there
They confirm the amount and your store name with the code or fingerprint their bank already asks for.
- 4
Settled to your balance
Added to your Checky Pro balance and paid out in 3–7 business days.

Do my customers need the Bizum app?
There is no Bizum app. It is built into the mobile apps of the Spanish banks, so if your customer banks in Spain they already have it.
What does a Bizum payment cost?
For a company in the EU: 2,95% plus € 0,25 per transaction, with no authorization fee and no currency conversion, because Bizum is paid in euros. Rates differ per region, and outside the EU the euros are converted into your payout currency — switch the region above the pricing table on this page to see yours.
How long does the customer have to approve?
Around an hour. If they do not confirm in the app within that window the request lapses and nothing is charged.
Can a Bizum payment be charged back?
Bizum has its own dispute procedure, so yes — but it is uncommon, because the payment is approved inside the customer’s own banking app rather than with a card number.
Can I use Bizum for subscriptions?
No. Each Bizum is a one-off push payment, so recurring billing runs on cards instead.
